So what’s it to be? Swimming on Monday? Drama on Friday? Out-of-school activities provide an excellent opportunity for your child to try out new interests and meet new friends outside school. But where should you go and which after-school club do you choose?

Music lessons are always a favourite. So too are drama and dance. But if your child is unsure what they might enjoy, give them the chance to explore. It’s natural for children to have a period of moving from one thing to another. Stay relaxed. Keep encouraging. Above all, after-school activities are about having fun as well as learning new skills. Time will tell whether you have a budding actor, athlete or zoologist in the family.
